Omg. I am freaking out at this news. At the feed store it is in the chicken section and the owner said she uses it on her chickens. Lifetime???? I could never use another one of my eggs?
Hello,
One of my hens has gone broody and has mites. I got Scalex and treated her, my other 4 hens, and the coop. My question is about if you have to wait a certain period of time to use eggs from treated birds? There was nothing on the label and haven't found anything yet online. Thanks for any...
Yea the older ones are still acting territorial but not really pecking the younger ones. I added some solar lights inside the run by the ramp and I am hoping they figure it out. Tonight they were posted up on the outside of the nesting boxes roosting on the edge. When I put them in should I put...
Hi everyone,
We have 2 hens that are almost a year and a half and 3 girls that are about 5 months old. The three older ones refuse to go inside the coop at night on their own like the older two and I have to put them inside every single night. Any suggestions on getting them to learn to go...
So the last two nights the littles have had to be coaxed to go inside with the bigs (that's what I call them), they are fine overnight, and then they hesitate coming out in the morning. Silly chicks. How long does it usually take for the bigger ones to accept the smaller chickens? The clucking...
If the little ones had more space I would have waited but they were starting to try and fly in the brooder and there was definitely not room for that! Lol. Thanks everyone!!!
I had to put the little ones inside once the bigs went in. They had no clue where to go or how to get in. It's quiet in there now so I'm crossing my fingers it stays that way until morning! Do you suggest putting a little water and food inside overnight? Or are they fine until morning?
We introduced our new chickens (3 of the between 8-10 weeks) officially into our existing flock of 2 hens who are 1 year old. We had them in the run in a safe container and this was the fist day we let them out. One of the hens was especially pecky and the babies pretty much hid all afternoon...
Hello, we have a 1 year old hen whose comb is still red but tonight the comb was laying over to the side a little. She seems to be acting fine but this concerned me. If her comb still has good color and she is behaving ok is the comb laying over ok or could there be anything wrong with her...
Ok, let me see if I can cover everything.
-got the first 3 from one feed store and the rest from a different one.
-yes, cleaned off bottom consistently with warm water and gently dried
-brooder is in the garage
-pine shavings in the brooder
-large storage box for brooder with a heat lamp...
Hi everyone,
I have done everything I have learned to do with these babies. Kept the temp warm enough, clean water everyday, medicated chick feed, warm
And cool area in brooder, etc... And we have lost 6 chicks so far (all at about a week old) with only one left. First 3 I'm pretty sure they...
Hi everyone, my two chicks that I'm guessin are between 1-2 weeks old have their wing feathers coming in strong but they are 2 totally different shapes (to me at least lol) Do the shapes of their wings vary by breed or gender? Thanks for any insight!
They are eating medicated feed. I also had put in their water the sav a chic probiotic and electrolytes. I purchased them at a feed store in Orange, CA. I think I am going to go buy some corrid (I think that's right?) at a different feed store and just start giving it to the two I got last night...
