So you can feed grower to hens too? you just need to give them calcium on the side?
My neighbour is feeding her newly hatched chicks grower feed instead of chick starter. I was trying to tell her she needed to feed chick starter only but she was adamant that she can feed them grower no problem.

The black in the tails is something that has to be selectively bred out. From what I have read, black in the wings is very bad but black in the tail is "normal" but of course you want them to be ALL buff.
I'm thinking I will stick with the second rooster because type is harder to breed...

My neighbour has a pen of buff birds and only owns that colour. She just had a hen hatch out some chicks and not all the chicks look buff. One looks partridge and a few are yellow coloured but also dark in spots.
What could be going on?? Can you get different colours from breeding buffs together??
