I just read over that article and found it fascinating. I've encountered a few of those egg problems too. I the ones I have encountered are caused by stress, or at least that's what they had in common. I'm always telling my kids to stop chasing the chickens. I wonder if my kids are stressing...

Hi there!
Here are two eggs that were laid this morning by my two Rhode Island Reds and now I have two questions.
1. Will the hen that laid this monstrous egg lay normal eggs again? Her eggs have been getting progressively larger over the past week. This one I know she struggled to lay...

They both have the single comb or is it a pea comb? I'm not sure. I'm still new to all...
Hi there! I have two ameraucanas who were hatched sometime in March (not sure when exactly). My question is what are my girls supposed to start looking like when they are getting ready to lay? I've noticed changes in their face (getting redder) but what is their comb supposed to look like? I...

My pullets were hold outs and didn't start laying (at least the one) until 24 weeks exactly on the day. It took that one fooooorrrreeeeeevvvvveeeerrrrr. I guess not really forever since 6 months is average. It just seemed that way. So now I have three more pullets to look forward to laying...
