Nothing really. Eggs are totally safe. It passes from chicken to chicken only through dander. But he said to only add vaccinated chickens from now to give them a chance against it. Basically a herpes virus and most chickens have been exposed to it. They just don't get sick. So maybe all...

Thanks! I just worry about any future ones coming in getting it. But I guess good it is happening now since I won't get more before next summer.

Thanks, I just wish I knew how they got it. I had them since they were 2 days old. The coop was built for them. I brought in sand for the run so they were not on dirt. Covered the top so birds couldn't get in. But I did just recently start letting them free range in the evening. And I do...

Took her for necropsy today at MSU. Heard from the vet this afternoon. The gross necropsy didn't show him anything that would make him think it was not mareks. He is highly suspicious that it is. Have to wait for histopathology report. I just never would have thought that as the symptoms...

Just an update. This chicken eventually went to sleep and would not wake up. It was culled. But then another chicken started the same symptoms. So I gave in and made a vet appt. Bloodwork showed a high WBC. Doesn't fit mareks but the vet thinks something along that line. Started her on...

I never would have suspected it. They were on medicated feed for a long time and everyone has normal stools (aside from her). They get fresh water daily and I wash out the waterer weekly. But, this specific one does like to find any mud puddle or water on the ground and drink it. So who...

Thanks. She is drinking a lot on her own. More than normal. They are not layers but should start in Oct/November. She is getting electrolytes/vitamins.

No smell. Does it not play as a video? She has always looked like that though. I think it might just be her feathers. But not sure. Can you do Corid and Tylan together? I did just double check to make sure I did not have medicated feed anymore and I did not.

Thanks, I will pick some corid up tomorrow. They were on medicated feed since I got them but the last 2 bags have not been medicated. Stools were normal until last couple of days but she has been drinking so much water that it comes out as water. Gonna grab tylan too.

I did just go back down and check. Feels normal to me. I could feel the water she had been drinking.

I will check again in the morning. That was the first thing I did when I brought her in tonight. It felt pretty empty to me but she was also not standing so it wasn't easy. I did think she felt thin. But she is kind of wild one so I have never held her before to know for sure.

18-19 wk old CCLB with a dry sneeze, sleepy, sometimes shakes head

Started about a week or so ago. Just seemed to have a dry sneeze and would act sleepy. I had put some new PDZ in the run (they were closed in the coop when I did it) and changed bedding in the coop (they were shut in the run when I did it) so I thought maybe the dust from these things had...
