18-19 wk old CCLB with a dry sneeze, sleepy, sometimes shakes head

Started about a week or so ago. Just seemed to have a dry sneeze and would act sleepy. I had put some new PDZ in the run (they were closed in the coop when I did it) and changed bedding in the coop (they were shut in the run when I did it) so I thought maybe the dust from these things had bothered them but I cannot remember if they were doing it before or after that. I had also switched food about 3 weeks ago and had to rearrange the roosts and lower them due to injuries. So I definitely brought on some stressers for them. But this girl is slowly getting worse. She is drinking very well, and I saw her eating this am. I have added eletrolytes/vitamins to her water. I did not see her eat tonight and she seemed really sleepy. She didn't even try to move when I went to catch her. Since I didn't see her eat tonight I gave her a dose of pultry nutri drench. She is now separated from the others so she can just rest. But she was still following the others around. Just would sit down and go to sleep whenever they stopped. I did hear another one have the dry sneeze but I cannot figure out which one it is. And the rest are acting great, no issues (4 others). I think she has heavier breathing but no nasal or eye discharge. Can't hear her breathing so I don't think she is congested. Just not sure how to treat. Was already at the vet this month with another one for a injury so trying to avoid spending more $. Thanks for any suggestions.

Feel that crop. Is it hard,soft or squishy? Does it feel weird, like air is in there? Her crop area looks odd to me.

I will check again in the morning. That was the first thing I did when I brought her in tonight. It felt pretty empty to me but she was also not standing so it wasn't easy. I did think she felt thin. But she is kind of wild one so I have never held her before to know for sure.

I did just go back down and check. Feels normal to me. I could feel the water she had been drinking.

Feel around her whole chest to see if she has any air under her skin. Even the left side of her looks puffy, but it may just be her feathers. I am wondering about a possible leaking air sac. Let us know how she feels , and especially how her crop feels in the morning.

She looks so sleepy like a chicken with coccidiosis looks. Has she had any runny poops? If she were mine I would give some more NutriDrench, then start her on Corid for possible coccidiosis. Dosage is 2 tsp of the liquid Corid or 1.5 tsp of the powder in a gallon of water for 5 days. No vitamins after starting Corid, then give them for a few days.

So Im not crazy thinking her crop area looks odd?

She looks like my CCL that had impacted/sour crop. But its hard to tell with a photo. Smell inside her beak. Cocci can also cause birds to act like she is, starting Corid wont hurt her. But if you think its respiratory, Maybe Tylan would be better. Crap, Im not being helpful, just brainstorming thru the possibilities.

Thanks, I will pick some corid up tomorrow. They were on medicated feed since I got them but the last 2 bags have not been medicated. Stools were normal until last couple of days but she has been drinking so much water that it comes out as water. Gonna grab tylan too.

Try checking her for egg binding. I've lost two hens to egg binding and they usually start out a bit like that. They just seem a little slow and sleepy, then their poop will get white and really smelly, in an odd way.

If that comes up empty check to make sure that she's drinking plenty of water on her own. If she is overheated or dehydrated then she will start out a little sleepy then she'll get lethargic with watery poo. I've lost one chicken to dehydration, but I've saved three from it by making some homemade electrolyte water with juice, water and a little salt. Use an eyedropper or something of the sort to give it to her. Squirt the water in through the side of her break and she should drink it on her own.

If neither of these are the case, then I can't think of what it might be. Do you know if she's lost weight?

No smell. Does it not play as a video? She has always looked like that though. I think it might just be her feathers. But not sure. Can you do Corid and Tylan together? I did just double check to make sure I did not have medicated feed anymore and I did not.

Thanks. She is drinking a lot on her own. More than normal. They are not layers but should start in Oct/November. She is getting electrolytes/vitamins.
