    Another Chick ID

Really, wow, I did not know they were this small. They are actually a tad smaller than my Bantams right now, but maybe they will grow some more. Well, so much for buying chicks from TSC, I do not usually do that, and will opt for a better source next time. Only did so because I wanted...

but the size is my concern, they are tiny, are barevelders this small? I have never had one so unsure...

    Another Chick ID

Can I see if anyone knows about this chick that is now 5 months old but 1/4 the size of the other hens who were purchased at the same time. There are two of these little girls. They look like barnevelders (but when purchased from TSC they were suppose to be Wellsummers) but they are not growing...

They seem fine to me, they are in the shadows so maybe my pics were not the best. But they are happy and enjoying life. Difficult Hen With Bumblefoot

Also once I have the hen inside, after treating her, I keep her in a small cage, so I can treat her foot several times a day and keep an eye on her. This also keeps her from getting her foot injured too. In the past my hens with this issue loved the soaking in Epsom Salt and warm water - they...

We are raising ours out for meat, we hatched chicks and ended up with 5 roosters out of the chicks... they are now to the point that our main roo will not have them in his space, so had to move them to grow them out.

This is our Rooster pen, we just completed it today. We have 5 roos that were in our recent chicks we hatched, but only three are currently in this pen. If the others start to be a problem with the big girls we will move them. Our main rooster (Rizzo) is sweet, but did not like these three, so...

I am actually in the middle of prepping a dog kennel for a roost pen, ended up with 5 roos in our hatching of eggs, and need to let them grow out before culling them. I have 30 hens and one main rooster who is the king, I am hoping that one of my new roos will be able to stay with the hens and...
