I have been raising chickens for years now and haven’t ordered an assortment in almost as long. So begins the guessing game. Most of them I’ve got down but there are two chicks that have me stumped. Any guesses? Rare breed assortment from Murray mcmurray, about 3 days old.

@Rhodebar Lover To me it kind of looks like a silver spangled hamburg chick!

Can I see if anyone knows about this chick that is now 5 months old but 1/4 the size of the other hens who were purchased at the same time. There are two of these little girls. They look like barnevelders (but when purchased from TSC they were suppose to be Wellsummers) but they are not growing anymore, really the size of a small pheasant - they are very sweet, I hold them a lot... but no idea if they will get to be the size of the other hens or if they are doomed to be tiny. I named them Pip and Squeak not realizing they would remain so small.

I am going to guess a barnevelder but I have only had the silver laced ones. ;)

Really, wow, I did not know they were this small. They are actually a tad smaller than my Bantams right now, but maybe they will grow some more. Well, so much for buying chicks from TSC, I do not usually do that, and will opt for a better source next time. Only did so because I wanted Wellsummers - but they miss labeled this for sure
