    What kind of comb is this?

    20 w/o pullet from an EE hen with a pea comb and a BSL roo with a JUMBO single comb. Is this just an XL lady pea comb? It’s so much bigger than the other hens’ combs, but also has no points! Would this qualify as a modified comb? Just curious!

    You might see the flock merge once they all reach the point of lay. Until then they will probably maintain micro flocks that basically are their brood mates.

    If you examine the vents of the pullets possibly responsible, you will see a difference between a laying and a non-laying chicken. The vent of a laying chicken will look moist and wider, while a healthy, non-laying bird’s will look dry and tight.

    :oops:I usually like to be more thrifty but we are using some pallet scraps along with 1/2 in plywood & some 2x4s to make a new coop because of chicken math and I realized my first coop, which was kindly given to me by friends, is really too narrow.
