    *POLL*What do you consider too much money for a chick ?

    I just bought three silkie chicks, two splash and one buff at $10 each. The father won first prize at the state fair apparently and was told if I was into showing they could do well. (which I didn’t know until I picked them up because I didn’t care)

    I’m finally starting to accept that she’s really gone, which has been hard considering how much time she needed everyday. Picked up three chicks I had been waiting for today which helped lighten the mood a bit.

    Mabel passed away in my arms tonight. Rest In Peace baby, you will be very missed. I can’t stop crying, but at least she’s no longer in pain.

    Honestly, I don’t know. I thought it was her crop at first but I’m not so sure. It’s off to the side, kind of between her wing and neck? It does seem to get bigger after she’s eaten/had a drink so maybe that’s it? Or I’m imagining things. It seemed to be the size of her head, I first noticed it...

    Mabel still can’t walk, and hasn’t feathered at all but her siblings are. Also has a large bulge on the right side of her neck so her sling isn’t useable anymore...sigh. Poor Mabel. I wish I could make her ok, I feel so helpless.

    I’m not sure how to post a video? Anyways, a lil update for y’all! Mabel can now eat and drink on her own out if dishes from her chair/sling/someone holding her. No more dropping food into her mouth which is great! Unfortunately, she still can’t walk. She can stand for a full three seconds...

    I feed Dumor non medicated chick starter, crushed at the moment. Here is Mabel and the setup. She likes being able to see her buddies but they try to snuggle with her which squishes her so she has to be tall. The temperature at her height off to the side is correct.
