Hi everyone. I bought 6 baby ducks about 7 weeks ago and one of the "pekin" (what the guy said it was) is not growing. The others including another pekin is 2 1/2 times bigger. It may be a runner from how he walks but I have another runner same age and he is tiny compared to the runner as well...
Hi everyone. I posted a couple days ago and got some great help. But now my incubator is fluctuating between 98.5 and 99.6 it has been steady since this morning. If I move it up a hair it will jump to 101. Is a low of 98.5 and a high of 99.6 ok? I have quail eggs coming soon and I just dont know...
Ok will do. The temp is even now at 98 degrees so a little more work and I can get to 99.8, thats what our book says it should stay at in a circulated incubator. does that temp sound good?
Thank you all so much! I have done what you said in a matter of minutes so I hope they make it and dint loose too much heat while I was working in there. Well if these guys dont make it my next batch will...Ihope... You guys are really great! Thanks so much.
I have a 100 watt lightbulb in there now and a aluminum foil heat shield. I will move the therostat and fan closer to the bulb like you have it...this makes perfect sense. I dont know why we put them further apart. Should I put a lower bulb in there?
I had in on for the last week and this is the lowest I have gotten it...not to go over 101 degrees. I just put my eggs in last night, and I really want them to hatch. Im thinking its too late to mess with it? What about a lower watt light bulb? Is that too risky with the eggs already in there?
I am a newbie to this and need some help with our incubator. My temp fluctuates (spelling?) between 94.2 and 100 degrees. I cant get it more accurate. We have a computer fan in there, 100 watt light bulb, a thermostat, my husband made it exactly how the directions told him to, humidity is fine...
