Should/How do I waterproof the inside of my coop? I anticipate a lot of hosing down of the coop and think it would be beneficial if I did this. However, what should I use? Should I just paint it? Would this be ok for the chicks?
Thanks!
Lisa
Guys: I am wanting to add an insulating layer inside my coop. Some styrofoam and then plywood over that. Should I put something on the plywood to help with the moisture of cleaning? Since I will be scrubbing it down ? If so, what??

Any comments on the general age to do this...

Can you post some pictures? I know that our boys had combs and wattles coming in faster than the girls did.

I have questions.
1) When can i start to send my chicks outside? What age?
2) Do I have to shut them up every night when living in town? It seems like everything I read relates to rural living.
Thanks, Lisa

1) When can I move my babies outside to their coop/run? At what age? I have read I should do it gradually.
2) I live in a small town. Is it necessary to close them up in their coop every night?? I have, what I think, a pretty secure fence for them.
Thanks so...
My baby andulasians are 3 weeks old. I have 4 of them and am wondering if I can tell if they are all female or not. I ordered pullets, but one of them does not have as prominent of tail feathers as the other 3. Do you think this one is a male? It seems that the females will get wattles as...
I am so anxious to start raising but can't find anyone with any Hollands or Dorkings. Anyone else know of a docile, cold hardy, white egg layer that is available now or Soon. I can't wait until spring!
