I talk to them and feed them by putting a small amount of food in my cupped hand. I also have a large walk-in run where I can put a small stool and just sit and watch and talk. I try not to chase them and now that they're putting themselves to bed at night I have no need to. Other than that...
No advice here, but I have two golden laced and one Colombian and never had an issue. In fact my two goldens are bigger than others in the flock the same age. Are they from the same hatch?
Looks like a hen to me too. My Wayndotte chicks all have larger and redder combs than my other chicks. I think she's pretty even though her lacing isn't typical.
I only feed and water my chickens outside of the coop. Generally once they're on the roost they don't move around in the dark. Keeping food and water in the run just makes it easier to keep things clean.
So my little bundles of energy are about 2 months old now. I put them out in the coop almost two weeks ago and they love all the new freedom. I put straw down today and they love it.
Here's the question, though. I put them in the coop for two days, just so they knew where their bed was...
