This is my take on a hommade incubator.
Third batch of a dozen eggs.
Not so good fertility though. I get one chick each batch.
I made this with stuff i was gonna throw out so ill call it free except for the thermometer 12 dollars.
Waiting for my chick to hatch.
It pipped last night at suppertime...
i float tested my eggs day21 and seen movement so i put em right back in.
as of tonight i cant see movement but they were moving after they went back in,.... i gently rocked them and they were moving

i'm on day 13-14 and dont know best to lockdown yet or not. i set 13 eggs and got 7 developed. not sure if they are still kickin because of temp and humidity swings....it's -9 outside. my temp was 100 all along. would that make an early hatch with coturnix?
my last chick hatched early at 99.7
my 13 coturnix quail eggs are due around the 8th. candled some and 2 or 3 are showing veins the others are just a dark yolk when should i quit on them. first hatch with my homemade rubbermaid water jug incubator, i got one chick from 12 eggs. one other chick diedin shell but the rest must not...
properly set up and mine holds 100.0 depending on the room temp it may fluctuate .5 degree.
just had to turn it back on the 8th day from 100.4- 100 wireless temp reads 99.5 steady whereas the probe is more quick to respond.
