    I think my small flock has lice. I've treated, birds and coop and pen and given them a sand bath with some of that deciduous (sp?) earth stuff. Still scratching.     Bloody vent

    I have four Leghorns hens. They all seem healthy but one has had a poopy/bloody vent for weeks. Her eggs are wet when laid and covered in fresh blood. I give them grit and calcium and a good feed. Not sure what to do? I am new to chickens.

    growing mealworms

    Thank you for the reply. I have to start growing them because my hens LOVE them and they are so expensive. Right now I have a $40 bucket full and try to give my girls only a handful a day. But it is so hard because it makes them so happy.
