Unfortunately, she had to go outside. The hubs couldn’t handle it. I currently have a blue rosecomb and 2 Serama cockerels in the house. The Seramas are still growing, so I haven’t made them diapers as yet. The rosecomb, Chester, does have one and doesn’t put up a fight at all.
She’s gasping for air at this point. I’m not taking any chances and will be taking her to a vet first thing in the morning, if she makes it through the night.
She’s less than a year old. Loss of coordination started Thursday with the bloody droppings. She gets the purina flock raiser and...
I am very confounded about what is wrong with my silver sebright hen. She is a spoiled house chicken, who all of a sudden started showing neurological problems. As in overnight. At first, her poop was bloody, then graduated to diarrhea. It’s becoming more solid and normal now.
My dilemma is...
2 weeks ago, we bought a Rosecomb Roo at a local auction. We, admittedly, were late - missing the opportunity to look at him beforehand.
When I picked him up at the end of the auction, I noticed he had poo on his butt. He was stuck in a small handmade crate, so I gave him a bath when we got...
As Ester is my first house chicken and still not mature enough to lay an egg, I’m not sure? But she does go in her house at night, so I would assume then.
Lol!! :lau Oops!!! Can’t say I blame you!! And no, the going behind definitely sucks chicken butt!!
It will fit in a regular envelope so postage should only be a dollar or so. So no worries!!:weeIf you think you can get measurements from Ms Custard, I’d love to make a few!! I’ve got some cute...
If the hens on this round of chicks start laying, and as long as I know they’re not fertile, I think my conscience would set better with eating them.
If you want me to make one and send it to you, I could!! I’m new to sewing, but I love it!!
The reason I had to put it around her fluffy tail...
I know, right. That’s why I chose Roos to start with. Not many people want more than what they need for the hen population. Unfortunately, my husband told me to get a hen or get rid of them. He didn’t want to just enjoy them as I did. Lol. Didn’t matter in the end, because I took every single...
Pearl and my 3 Roos were a sympathy gift from the lady who got me into chickens. I had originally gotten 3 Roos from her ( no hen ). Frodo, Sam, and Gandalf. Frodo was bonded to me and I to him. They were my first chickens since early childhood. A raccoon got all 3 over the course of 2 nights. I...
Your modifications do make sense! I’ll have to try that!!
The oldest ( and my first chicks ) were hatched on 19.11.17. Another 6 a week later, and 9 more a week after that. I’ve only lost 2. That was so hard. :hit In between all this, I was nursing their mother, Pearl ( The Black Pearl ), who...
:th
I’m new to them too. Ester was supposed to be an outside chicken, but because she was so much bigger than my silkies ( even as a chick ), I had to seperate her. Now she doesn’t think she’s a chicken. :sick Even according to the lovely lady I got her from. I have 3 Silkie Roos outside in...
How did you adjust it? I made a fold and sewed it in to shorten the chest piece. I left back and straps alone.
I do love to cuddle to her and she wants to sleep with me, but while she’s not fully grown, she’s CERTAINLY not a baby! And with a little bit bigger bird, comes bigger poop and bigger...
