Most poultry shows have a sale section, so maybe look there? Or ask around at the poultry show to see if any breeders might have sale ducks at home. Good luck!
Heavily diluted, yes. I would do a toothpick dip or two in a tbsp of coconut oil. You might also try giving it to her in her water, 1 drop per liter. Hope she feels better soon!
I have three hatchery Silkies from MPC. They’re not the greatest quality, but they’re super soft and really friendly!
They’re the three in the back, sorry it’s not the greatest photo, it’s the best I have of them. The buff ordinarily has a crest, she just got scalped by my other hens during...
d’Uccles have a beard, Booted Bantams don’t. Either way she’s going to be a friendly little layer of white eggs. I’ve got a porcelain d’Uccle and she’s my only hen that enjoys being petted.
I have an 8 week old pullet that is an Ayam Cemani rooster over a White Crested Splash Polish hen, and I know that those two couldn’t produce a splash, however the pullet has markings like a splash bird. Could she be a blue paint similar to a paint Silkie?
If you want a standard sized d’Uccle, research the body type of d’Uccles extensively and choose a standard sized breed of chicken with the most similar type and least likely to have issues to fix later on. Cochins wouldn’t be a great choice because their body type is highly different from duccles.
Thanks so much! Now I’ve got to figure out how to smuggle in a pullet her age and some call ducks and swap them for the cockerel without the poultry limiter finding out ;)
I have a pair of 8 wk old bantam mixes that I’m adding to my flock, and I’m pretty sure one is a pullet, but I’m not fully sure, and the other I’m going back and forth on. Could someone please evaluate these pictures and tell me if these are pullets or cockerels?
I have all bantams, and they do occasionally bully eachother and tear out each others feathers even though the mean birds sleep in their own coop with a shared run. I think they’d be fine, especially if you trimmed the crests so they could see attackers coming. You’d be surprised how fiesty the...
I was researching bantams that are cold hardy and good egg layers (not the easiest to find), and on the My Pet Chicken breed selector tool, Seramas came up and in their description, they were described as cold hardy. I can’t keep house chickens, but do have 13 other bantams that they would live...
