they had not mottled before - and the egg eating was definatley intentional. now a few seem to have foot problems - not bumblefoot but something that has a large yellowish kernal by the toil nail. Can't find any info on this.
I'm wondering if the "mold" can just be scraped off and use the rest? What do you think?

Beautiful girls. Love Marans. But my Midnight Marans have all stopped laying...8 of them after a year!! Also several of them are egg eaters!! Any idea why??
They all went through a tough molt this winter but my Prairie Bluebells are laying again. Also in Michigan.

Your choice of chicken....not high production layers...and now they are past their prime....also stop throwing eggs into the pen!! It also appears the one egg layer is pecking her egg. And could be eating eggs!
