Hello. I wanted a break from hens this year and wanted to have some roosters for pets free ranging for bugs, and ticks. If they have no hens, I am reading that they should be fine? Question is, will they possibly get aggressive without hens, to humans? I enjoy the company of the birds all year...

Okay. This little coop is pretty fancy. Insulated and sided like a small home on a slab. Two small vents at top. One on each side. So. Do you think with that said we should not heat with the heating system it's set up with and go with some lamps in the dead of winter ?

Good! I'm looking for locals that may want to sell some younger chickens. I don't want to buy from a feed store again. I'm not sure if this breed gets broody too much but I'm going to try my hand and natural hatching with the girls.
My RIR are about 13 weeks. They do not have much on their heads yet. Wondering if they need more protein other than the medicated chick starter food. My mom mentioned they look kind of dull also. First time chicken owner here.
