Hello Friends, ---I'd like to be a member of this illustrious group --if I may---My grandson and I just just put 148 eggs in the incubator. this is our second try. The first time we set 44 and ended up with 28 chicks. that was 2 weeks ago.

no it won't hurt---the hen leaves the nest when she is sitting for a while to eat and drink --the eggs cool down a little bit then with no hatching issues.--
looking like i'll end up with 26 chicks, a couple of the last ones seem weaker than the others had been. I started out with 48 eggs. had a few clear at 10 days. So l had some where around 54% hatch rate. I'm a little disappointed it wasn't higher than that.
