I feel very sorry for all those affected by Hurricane Sandy. While it did not damage our house, it did collapse the canopy above our chicken coop. My husband and I worked out in the rain and wind building a roof for our girls. Now that's love! Lol! I updated my coop design page...
My chicks are about 3 weeks old and are going crazy as well. They are flying/coasting around the brooder. Loud chirps, quite chirps, constant quite chirps, scratching, and dust bathing. I feel like they have grown so much in just a short time.

Well last night was great! It did take me a while to get the temp adjusted. After it was just right the chicks were so quiet. Just eating, drinking, napping. I used our laundry hamper/clothes hanger.
Which will work nicely when it comes time to lower the temp. I also covered one end with a sheet...
