Raccoon attack
My girl Whip got it good from a raccoon on Thursday. It is roughly a 3.5 x 2" injury under her wing. Right or not, we left her alone the first night and second day. She has been eating and drinking but not getting around as well as we would like. She was outside with me for a while and...- Jibbets

I gave my girls hot oatmeal today with a few raisins thrown in. The gobbled it up in seconds flat. Their beaks do get a bit oaty while they are eating, but I have never noticed it to be a problem. They seem to get it off eventually.- Jibbets

Congratulations!! I feel your pain. I have two girls I got as chicks last Easter that still haven't laid one egg. They weren't ready in the fall and now in the winter with reduced light etc. no eggs.- Jibbets

We got 2 eggs today. Which is up from the 1 yesterday and the zero the day before that, so I guess things are looking up. Of course I have a crazy lavender orpington that is in the midst of a full on molt. I keep telling her she read the calendar wrong. She looks a complete hot mess right...- Jibbets

One of my Orpies is named Baby. She got picked on quite a bit when we first got her and we were always saying "No one puts Baby in the corner" so it kind of stuck. lol I have lavender, black and buff Orpingtons....really I need to round out the color wheel no?- Jibbets
