Minimal, liquid, yellow poop, will not roost, lays on the floor. Help!

I've been devouring information and I still can't figure out what this might be. Black Orpington, about three years old, started having runny poops about 2-3 weeks ago. After about a week she tried to roost in the nest boxes, acted like she couldn't balance on the roost bar. Now she is...

Hen not recovering from spring molt

I'm sorry, but I can't get the pictures to post here, I'll keep trying. I cleaned and sprayed the coop and dusted her (Black Orp) and my Lavender Orp, but I found no evidence of lice or mites while I was doing that. The Black Orp's belly is bare, she has new feathers behind her neck, but her...

Hen not recovering from spring molt

Thanks for the response! No rooster. I have watched the others, they aren't plucking her. No mites or lice that I can tell. We are in Colorado, 6500 ft elevation. In the ten years I've had chickens, I've never seen this! I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Hen not recovering from spring molt

My black orpington went into a hard molt March/April timeframe and still has only a few new feathers. Her wings look bare in spots, her neck is completely bare, but she has new feathers on her backend and some below her head, on her back. She is doing great, however, she just looks awful...

My chick can't use it's legs!!!!!! PLEASE HELP

Good to hear, Barb! Yes, I tried a few of those things but my little chick would not even scoot to get to her food or water; I had to pick her up and hand feed her. When she did try to walk she would flap her wings and jump instead of taking a step. Her poor little legs had atrophied by the...

My chick can't use it's legs!!!!!! PLEASE HELP

Hi Barb, I had this same problem a while back and promised everyone I would post once I learned what was wrong with my 7-week old Buff Rock. Unfortunately, many other medical challenges (mine) took precedence, and now I can't find the original message! Here is the long overdue explanation...

3 week old chick can't walk

Amazing, I'm having the same problem with a 6-week old chick. She's been like this for three days and today I noticed that she sits on her legs and the left foot curls in to a claw. She doesn't want to stand or walk, but she's eating and drinking well. I have her separated from the others and...

    Help for 6-week Buff Rock

Thanks so much for your answer. My chicks were all vaccinated for Marek's and currently she is eating, and drinking and is acting fine, although unable to stand for long. She literally sits on the back of her legs, she doesn't stand. Very strange! Yes, I will call the Vet in the morning...

    Help for 6-week Buff Rock

Hi, I'm not new to this website but I usually just read and learn, this is my first post. I have a 6-week old Buff Rock that I noticed was almost constantly lying down. After watching her for a couple of days, I isolated her to see if I could determine what was wrong. It's going on the...
