    Buff Orpington x Red Sexlink = What color?

    We just hatched out black and red sexlink's crossed with a BO roo. How can you tell which are the hens and which are roo's? Or do I have to wait til they get older? We so far have 3 black and 3 buff colored.

    Fertile eggs not developing...

    Our incubator has an auto egg turner, so we are good there! The spot in the yolk is donut shaped or like a bullseye. We have 7 hens to 1 roo. Roo is coming up on a year. I'm guessing it must mean he isn't fertile?!?!

We have noticed lately that when we are out and about on the property he will follow behind you and when you turn around he stops and pretends like he pecking at the ground.     We need to build some sort movable run and coop. I have found some pretty cool ideas on the web but my husband has the idea to get a dog kennel and build a coop within it some how. Does anyone have any experience or advice about using a dog kennel?
