I've got 3 mallard/domestic crosses, 7 week old and growing, growing, growing. I give them about 2 cups of feed, 5 times per day plus they eat clover,grass, bugs etc when out. Seems to be working so far.
I hope to cut this down to 2-3 cups, twice per day when they've grown.

Food here is incredibly expensive, gotta eat smaller meals, seriously. With meat being the flavoring for a meal, not the main portion. Easier said than done, though.

I've got three 6 week old ducks, so they're still eating and pooping alot:o. I think I have a problem with my coop/ark as it has a sweet/sour smell and attracts insects. Now I know it's gonna stink and have bugs but...... should I be concerned?

They get a mixture of cabbage/corn/oats/16%chicken feed.
Plus they eat frogs/bugs/worms while foraging and soldier fly larvae in the compost.
For some reason they won't touch the special pellet duck feed.

A question, why do you raise quail? Is it for eggs, meat or pets?
Here in Japan quail eggs are available in most every supermarket, yet I've never seen quail meat sold. I have however seen pricey imported frozen quail available here...
