    One FAT Barred Rock!

    My barred rocks look like yours. I was afraid they were overweight but I guess they are healthy. Their wattles and combs are deep red. They try to eat all the treats. I have to separate my one easter egger and give her some of the treats separately. Love your flock.

    :thumbsupI use 2x4 wide side up . Also cut wooden monkey bar from old play swing. Has rounded bars on it. they don’t sleep on it. They are chicks but are already using the 2x4 roosting bar.

    Use sand in the run and pdz in the coop.you can add bedding in the winter over the pdz for more warmth. This works great.

    i am using cackle hatchery because i only wanted certain chickens. i ordered 6. cost 102.00. it was worth it to me because i could only have a small flock where i live. they will be here around feb 5th. can't wait. black astralorpe, buff orpington, barred rock,red sex link and 2 easter eggers.
