    Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Shipped chicks have gone through an traumatizing experience. They are very tired. Once the get enough food and water the tend to chill out for a time. Electrolytes should give them a boost

I would not want to try to incubat duck eggs with chicken eggs. But if you have it started already your best luck should be around 50% for the first 18 days and temp should be around 99.5

That is the one I use in mine because you can Velcro it to the inside. Take it outside, if the weather man said that it is around 50% and you get a reading much lower that may be your problem

Upstate poultry on fb has a lot of activity! But I'm surprised this has not taken off more.... There seems to be a fast growing interest with back yard chickens in South Carolina

Yes just after your hatch take the shell apart and clean it but that is what you should do if nothing else works

You are definitely going to have to supplement humidity. If you do it with the humidifier try to maintain constant humidity in the room. If it goes up and down in the room the temperature in the incubator could fluctuate. Keep an eye on it.

Also you can raise the humidity by putting felt strips draping out of the water channels but if only if you need to during turning. Be aware that if it pulls to much water it can drip off and settle into the shell of the incubator and you would need to take it completely apart to clean and dry...

I have had bad luck raising the humidity with a humidifier in the room. If you can try to control it within the incubator itself it will be better. Ventilation is important and if you have air conditioning in the house small rooms content to dry out.

The humidity needs to be higher. You can put water in both channels until lockdown but you need to put felt strips or something to in there to get the humidity up during lockdown. Without the egg tray in there put water in the channels and rotate it like you were turning eggs. Then you can make...

Don't clean them. If they are extremely dirty you can carfuly wipe them with a damp cloth but if you can avoid it its best to not clean them at all to have the best hatch rate.

    Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Does she have feathers on her legs? All of the black copper Marans that I got from mayors had feathers on the legs. I do have to say I was quite impressed with the dark color of their eggs.
