I'm going to try this dry hatching for sure!
Am I right in thinking the first 18 days no lower than 25% humidity upping this on lockdown to 60-65% ?
I've always followed the brinsea "manual" on hatching also do this apply to other eggs too ie quail etc ?
Hi Guys,
Ive been out the game some time now but saved everything!
where would one get his sensors calibrated on a brinsea octagon 20? It's not been used for a good year or two!
thanks
Hi Guys,
We’ve kept chickens for a few years but was forced to get rid of them around 18 months ago as we was going to sell up and move and the estate agents wouldn’t list the house on the market with them... we’ve got the back garden lovely and let’s admit it chickens ruin it so we are looking...
Brill thanks again for your advice so if I get this problem I could clip them wish the last resort putting them on mesh I did want to make it as much as I could like there wild habitat.
Thanks all what wire mesh do you keep them on ? As there is no floor so I could raise it on legs and put a mesh floor in and can't you clip quails like chickens I read you can ? Thanks all
New to quails but have been keeping and hatching chicken a few years now, we have just set 84 eggs in the Incubator thinking these would be simple and now have questions... our bad!!
Questions we think are simple,silly and probably common sense;
We understand that these birds will need keeping...
Its Chinese quails we like I was going to build a rabbit hutch and run style housing with a tiny nest box On the side in winter I will have a low watt heat bulb or electric hen in the house
We really like quails we have kept chickens for a while now and are going to build something for around 3 or 4 Chinese painted quails but for I idea was wanting you to post pictures of your quail Housing and runs.
How do you sex them and also are the males loud ? And what makes practical good...
Ive always let our chickens roam with work being done on the garden its forcing me locking them in a run with some roaming time as and when I can so id like to see some runs for ideas on roofing it and what to have in it to keep them happy hens
Cheers Josh
We usally soak it for a couple of hours in plain water but a good one for boiling ham is....
A good sized joint.. ill find out the kg of it.
Use normal coke a cola (not cheap) cover the joint just about add too table spoons of honey and half a orange into quaters (one on each side of joint)...
Right im slowly giving in and going to put mains power to the coop buti fort id try the idea out a wired the ariel up to 2 plugs one being 12v dc 1amp output and one 12v dc 0.8 amp and it only popped out a mm or 2 and stopped like a toy with a flat battery is it because the plugs had low amps ?
Ive seen many of these made using car antennas but there all wired up to mains electrics which I don't have in the coop so my idea was to use a car battery, ive bought everything needed to set it up but was wondering if you byc keepers think it will work too...
Thats the sketch of how it...
