One Eyed with Crossed Beak Beating The Odds?

I went to a breeder and bought 3 6-week old Ameraucana pullets. While I was there I was offered a free pullet that had one eye and a slightly crossed beak. I took her home and named her Becky after Finding Dory's Becky. She is now 10 weeks old, and eating/drinking just fine. She is though...

    Flooding!

Sorry for not responding. We ended up putting them in our empty horse trailer! They are all safe! That flooding was pretty scary and it came on fast!!

    Flooding!

Any ideas on where to put my chickens? I would just move them to a dry area, but those other areas belong to another rooster on the property who might kill my lovely rooster. Flooding happened last night and is continuing to rise. Their coop has a raised floor but there is still 8 inches or so...

Is this white Leghorn rooster showable?

     Chickens need more protein?

Nope! It's meant for chickens...layer chickens to be exact. I do believe it is a feed that the store makes themselves. It's not organic, nor natural, and had a lot of fillers. I don't use it

     Chickens need more protein?

It's layer feed. I use wild bird seed as scratch as the scratch out here has corn :/

     Chickens need more protein?

I completely forgot about the commercial layers. I didn't even know there was 16%. Out here we only have feed stores and their protein is only 12%. I was thinking that's a little low. Tractor Supply has just moved here though, and opens on Saturday. Maybe I should take a look.

     Chickens need more protein?

This is not a problem that I have, but it's both a question and observation from other people's protein problems. If chickens on layer feed need more protein, shouldn't people look for a layer feed with more protein? Why haven't businesses started making layer feed with more protein? To me, it...

Can A Older Hen Get Broody?

I never knew that! I bought Americana/Easter Egger for her color from a rescue (In okay condition) and she's in quarantine still. The people told me that most hens there were hens that had past the age of egg laying. I have heard that before and thought that after a certain age most breeds just...

Can A Older Hen Get Broody?

Can older hens that have stopped laying eggs still become broody? Just wondering if their stop in egg production means that they also stop getting broody.

Is this white Leghorn rooster showable?

Would you consider him decent show quality? I would like to show him for fun. I just picked him up, it's dark and he's already in the quarantine pen so I'm really sorry about the picture quality. I will post more tomorrow. I believe that the comb is really important, how would you say the shape...

    Big Problem With Ground Squirrels

Oh wow. I didn't know that there were weasels here. Well in that case, I take back what I said about them being in California and change it to they don't live in this area of California. Too many cats, too many people, too many well taken care of farm land, and too many hunting cameras (all my...
