Mojo Chick'n : The price is just $29.95 for 100 + 10 extra chicks - plus shipping, total price to me was 44.55 this time (was a dollar or so more last time, so maybe they are overrun with extras and took a little off?) Any idea what I've got here?

I agree. I have two of them in my coop.

Thought I had all pullets, but these two still make me wonder.....

Love the chickenbutts pic and love the white (EE?)pullet with the greenish legs. My EEs are black/gray so the green legs don't stand out to much. Love it!

    reds eggs

From what I have read the eggs are darker in the spring when they start to lay and will lighten up as the laying season goes on. If they free range make sure they get some oyster shell for calcium. That will help with the shell thickness.

Why do the eggs need to rest 12 hr before incubating?

I only heard it is necessary for shipped eggs to "rest." But I'm no expert.

No, I didn't get a chance to visit any of the local Amish. I was just hoping to check it out and see what all they had to offer at the swap and what prices things/critters were going for. I was in town visiting family for an early Father's Day so I wasn't even sure I would have a chance to get...
