    Wet Run need help

Stepping stones would be a help in there. I've got plenty of leaves, just need the sand.

Which Breed Lays The BIGGEST EGG?

I have both and would gladly trade my Black Aussies for Red or Gold Sex Links. In my experience, the Sex Links eat less and produce more.

    Wet Run need help

My 10' x 20' run is staying really muddy these days (and also stinky), any advice on what I can put in there to help absorb some of the moisture. Would sand be ok? I've put wheat straw in there before, but it doesn't last very long. Unfortunately, i don't have very good drainage where the run...

Bessie the hound keeps a careful watch over her chickens. On the other hand, our other basset, Naggie could care less about the chickens. We have two other outside dogs that reside beside the coop/run.

Our other Basset (Maggie Mae) could care less about the chickens. She just wants to lay on the couch. My coop and run are right beside my outdoor dog's pen. I figured that that mught help keep some of the critters away. My girls have doon really well. I feed Nutrena medicated start and grow.

The "lap chicken" is T-pain the RIR. I'll bet not many chickens have their own hound to watch over them.

I moved them out of their brooder this past Sunday into the coop. I've been letting them out in the run for a hour or two every day while I can supervise until I get the poultry wire around the bottom of the run. As you will see, they have their own guard dog. (Bessie the basset hound)

    cleaning waterer

As a home brewer of fine SC homebrew beer, I can tell you that 2 TBSP of bleach to 5 gallons of water is enuff to sanitize my equipment. I think a small amount of bleach to water will sanitize anything. I use dish detergent to wash my waterers and just rinse several times. Just my take.

$12.99/50 lbs for Medicated Nutrena Nature Wise here in Upstate SC at my local F&S. Prolly switch to Barlett next bag or too. I can get it for around $10/50lbs.

what do you feed three 2 week old chicks, how much, and how long?

I started mine on Purina Start N Grow, but switched to Nutrena Nature Wise because it was easier to get. My chicks seemed to like them both and have done well.
