Hey! I just wanted to say thanks. As a newcomer, I do feel overlooked very often. I am so glad that you were able to take a moment and get back to me! Thanks!
Hey everyone. Does anyone know if silkie eggs will fit in the small egg tray of the Brinsea Mini Advance Incubator? I'm about to buy one and I want to figure roughly how many eggs I can shove in there :).
Thanks!!
Does anyone know whether or not silkie eggs will fit the small egg tray in a mini advantage brinsea incubator? I didn't get a response over at the silkie thread :(
Yesterday all of mine were supposed to have hatched or started pipping. When I arrived home from work I noticed another one out. Yay! Put it in the brooder with it's buddies. I became a little concerned when I didn't see any other pips or hear any cheeping....so I decided to snatch a few and...
I have chicks peeping! YAY!
And this time I promised myself not to intervene this time but the peeps are on the sides of the eggs. Isn't that wrong? I swear I won't open the bator this time!
By the way if you can't tell--->I've had chickens for years but I am really new to this incubator...
I send my culls to a local "exotic" bird auction that occurs twice a year. No one knows who drops off all the silkies, most get a reasonable price, and I get a check in the mail a few weeks later. It's a good situation for us and works well.
Oh! I am in. I have 15 very expensive silkie eggs that are set to hatch 11/7! We are just heading into lockdown this weekend. Last time I had temperature problems so I amped up my incubator with a large dial for better temp control, three thermometers instead of one, and one less curious woman...
I had all types of breeds back in 2009. Wyandoottes, australorps, buff orpingtons, and quite a few leghorns. The best broody I ever had turned out to be a rhode island. She would let me pick her up from her brooder pen daily, go for a quick walk, and then get back to business on those eggs. That...
She is a partridge, but I think if you were really to get specific you could say blue partridge. Either way, at a show just write partridge. She'll stand out all her own anyway...won't need a name to do that for her:)
I just bought new babies and I was so sad to lock them outside. My husband is already convinced I am a little crazy about them so didn't even flinch when I walked by him in the house cuddling my new favorite girl!
My girls in my chicken tractor were 5/5 today. My pullets flew the coop before I could put the gate up and so I only had 3 out of 10!!! that left me eggs. I can see myself finding a hidden pile sometime soon. GRUMBLE!
