Hello. I have a muscovy drake that has recently began picking on and killing my chickens. Anybody in the area need another duck? He gets along with other ducks, geese, and dogs.

Hello! I have a first time broody hen. The gen switches nests everyday but doesn't take her eggs with her. Is she doing this because something is "wrong" with the eggs? Or is she just confused? She leaves her eggs, and goes and sits on freshly laid eggs. Any Advice to get her to stay on the...

We just candled the eggs and we saw one of the embryo's in one of the eggs moving, so it appears that it is still alive. One's shell is too thick to see anything and the other one was super porous and hadn't developed any. Fingers crossed they will still hatch. :)

How long does it take for the ducks inside to start moving? I saw the goose off of the nest today but I had to get to class so I wasn't able to try. By "candling," do you mean you just put a bright light up to the egg in a dark place?

She never gets off of them. When we try to move her she tries to attack us! I'll see what we can do though. Does candling hurt the baby?

Here is another picture. I'd rather not sacrifice an egg. It's been sitting on them for quite awhile so if it is possible that they are alive I'd like to leave it that way.
