My auto door setter lets mine out 0630 & they're out then, until about 19-1930, the door auto locks at 2000hrs at the moment. If I spot fox etc I'm extra vigilant and sometimes let them out a bit later, or try & get them in earlier. They love pecking around on the grass, and have a great sized...
Can anybody advise me on this. I noted my chickens foot bleeding, I think it has only just happened, while I'd gone to renew the food in the coop. I don't know if my other hen did it accidentally while pecking at the food which had escaped onto the floor a little, but now she seems to have...
Ok, I've brought my new chickens home today! They are around a year old, I've introduced them to the coop and given them some feed and water- one has produced my first egg! how do I get them out of the coop to free range? I don't want to spook them but I now want them foraging for bugs, weeds etc

Thanks lovechickenss, I think I'll definitely get four, you've helped me make my mind up! If it weren't for going back to the UK next week for a week, I'd be getting them right now! Still, it gives me something to look forward to for when I get back
Thanks for the welcome Yorkshire Coop!
