    Hen with swollen eyelid

There needs to be a warning on that first link haha. I will have some extra hands to help so I will see what I can do. I have pushed on it before and it wasn't hard at all seemed to be very soft. Thank you again for the information.

    Hen with swollen eyelid

i would say it resembles the first one with the swollen eyelid the most. I will get a pic of her tonight when i get home. No bad odor or anything. The eye itself is fine it dilates just as it should i guess i need to lance it open which is what i was afraid i was going to have to do. Thank you...

I have her separated from the rest to make sure she isnt bullied to death and doesnt spread what she has. This has gone on for 2 weeks it got better briefly then swelled back...

Pictures of your dogs with your flock. (Give dog breed also)

Very cool never seen a dog lick a chicken before! My dog loves to follow the chickens around when they free range (he really just likes to harvest their poop, gross I know I have tried and tried to break him of it.), the chickens don't mind my lab because he has never tried to get them nor is...

    Chicken too hot?!

Yeah they are just hot. My RIRs do it all the time. I live in Oklahoma and the temperature yesterday was 98 with a heat index of 113. Just make sure they have plenty of cool water. I try to replace their water everyday when I get home from work.

    Light next to the coop

Well just to let everyone know my wife and I went on our week long vacation and I decided to just leave the coop open so they could go in and out of the enclosed run. My dad visited almost every day to check them. Nothing even attempted to get into the coop (At least no evidence was left). Came...

putting 6 week old chicks in the coop

I put my chicks out in the coop with a heat lamp at about 5 weeks old and they did just fine. The chicks are at 6 weeks now and I will start to let them out of the coop during the day. Just make sure they aren't too cold depending on the weather. If they haven't feathered out completely that...

    Light next to the coop

I just didn't know if a security light would have any effect keeping them away but I would assume you are right that after they know there is nobody home that it will just be mood lighting. I am torn on what to do. I do have someone coming over every other day to water the garden and other small...

    Light next to the coop

Alright, I want to preface this by saying I know that even if I think my run is predator proof that things can still happen and weasels, snakes, rats etc. etc. That being said I am going to Montana for a week, its OK to be jealous, and I live in the country with only 1 or 2 neighbors around and...

post your chicken coop pictures here!

That is a lot of money and time well spent the coop looks amazing. I just did my garden fence as well I used cattle panels with regular old chicken wire around the bottom, but from the looks of your coop I bet yours will be fancier than that lol.

post your chicken coop pictures here!

That's not too bad at all for that nice of a coop! Good call on the chicken run building party why didn't I think of that lol. Good luck with the run and let us know how the chicken raising is coming. You can get most of your answers just by searching the forum I search things probably on a...

post your chicken coop pictures here!

Welcome adkhunter, and that coop looks great. I hate to know what you spent on it but it will definitely do the job for 6 RIRs.Does it come with a chicken run? Are you going to free range? or just keep the "cooped up?"
