Welcome from North Texas, last May I bought four chicks from the feed store. I build a chicken tractor, but it wasn't long until they out grew it, so I build a larger coop a 6'x6'with a 60'x 12'foot run. Here a few pictures.
This one is my chicken tractor
I lost most of my construction...
Four out of four, my first hen started laying the 5th of October two more started two weeks later the last hen started November 9 in that length of time they have laid 232 eggs. They are working hard to keep me happy and I'm working to keep them happy. Two golden comets and two RIR
Merry...
I built this chicken tractor last june for my four new chicks. I decided that I would rather have a larger walk in coop, so now I've decided to sell the tractor and was wondering what would be a fair price.
The girls just had to get in the picture, nosy women:hide
That is neat, I have been thinking about putting one in my coop, found this wireless one at Fry's it says it is good for 300 feet. I know it has be fun to see what goes on in there.

I know you'll be happy with your automatic door, I can do without mine now. I went up to the farm yesterday to help my son to sting 700 feet of barbwire on the east fence, didn't get back to town until after dark but the chickens were in and the door was closed.
Out of the four chicks I got last May three started laying about a month ago, the last hen at 26 weeks and two days laid her first egg.
It seemed like 26 months.

I do have a light for the inside of the coop that is on a different timer it comes on at 5:30 PM and goes off at 6:30 PM and in the morning it comes only 5:30 AM and off at 6:30 to give the chickens a little extra light during the winter.
You know chickens must have a darn good internal clock, mine go in everyday at 4:41 PM, I have my timer set to close the door at 6:05 PM it also turns a floodlight on when the door closes so I can look out to see if any of the chickens were left out, none so far. It opens the door at 6:30 AM...
