Quick question, just had a chick hatch without a toenail on it's middle toe, will it grow eventually? Or just a birth defect and will never regrow it? Its brother and sisters who have just hatched all have all their toenails
Would anyone near Merced California be looking to trade a young Roo for a hen or two depending on quality? I can get pictures later if anyone is interested.
I'm asking because I want to sound reasonable assuming my neighbors do not know about Seramas. They might be thinking I'm crazy for asking what I paid, for "just a chicken", in respect to a reimbursement.
So one of my Roo's was sadly just killed by my neighbour's dog. I talked to one of the occupants and they said they could reimburse me for damages. Not sure what I should do right now, any thoughts?
Will do, my hen has been laying every other couple days. Have 5 from her but 3 are probably no longer well since they're old even though stored properly. I think she may go broody soon again
I once had a hen go brrody after the first 4 eggs she laid to a total of 13 eggs. By the time she had gone broody the first 4 eggs had spoiled and already began to form but died in the process because of the weather where i live. But out of the 9 eggs afterwards she hatched every single one of them.
One of my hens just went broody! Can't wait to see a bunch of chicks running around my backyard again! :) If any of you have hens that go broody, let mama hen do their jobs. It'll be a great experience!
