I have a polish hen who I have been trying to get rid of the mites/lice on for MONTHS! With no avail, today I went out to find she has prolapsed her vent. I have brought her home, but she is not able to stay since her infestation is so bad. I have pushed her vent back in about 6 times so far...
Thank you LovePolish2! I am hoping that the little "tomboy" is just sending mixed signals because its hatchery stock. My other polish hen took almost a year to lay. I will for sure be updating with more pictures!
Sweet! What about the crowing? I have a bantam coching that I KNOW is a roo, and the polish attempts to copy it. Granted, you can tell the difference between each bird's crow. The polish also has a "personality" compared to the other polish who is currently getting ALL the feathers plucked out...
I would love for it to be a pullet after all! On the top picture, would those head feathers be considered pointy or am I just seeing what I'm dreading?
I have an 8 week old polish that I think is a roo based off the sad attempt at a crow and the waddle development, but the tail is very small and it was VERY small when we got "him" (about an inch and a bit tall). Anyone have any opinions? If he is really a he, I can't really keep 2 Roos...
Thank you every one. I know partrige cochin was mentioned as well, could i have the breed wrong? I got the bantam assortment from cackle, so they said what breeds are usually included, so I went with the golden laced becuase it was on the list. they do see partrige cochins as well. I checked the...
I added a picture from a day earlier to show more of the body color too. Thank you for your input! I hope it turns out to be a hen but if I only have 1 roo out of this bunch I'll be happy.
I added this one since it shows the color of the feathers better
I have a 3 week (will be 4 week old on Monday 3/25) Bantam golden laced cochin. I am wondering if I can tell the sex yet. This bird LOVES to sit on my leg/jump on my arm and we call him/her "team leader" since it is the most...
Here is my first picture, I'm going to wait to post my second after the new batch of babies are here!
edited: first time uploading pictures, sorry
This is my little BO chick who happens to look like Walter from Jeff Dunham's show (she fell asleep after a long 2 minutes of taking baby pictures!)
Ok, either ow I'm hyper sensitive or I actually have a cold going through after a week. One has a little "click" and sneezes morse often than the others. The one with the flick is not doing it as much after the bedding change. What do i do?! I have tylan 10 powder...I don't know If I can use it...
Thank you! They have had the save-a-chick in there for 2 days already. I do have poly vi sol, should I give that one a drop? They were on pine shavings before, and they are already trying to dust themselves. I figured it was irritating their lungs. We took them out of the brooder for about 25...
I have a 1 week old chick that appears to have a sensitivity to the pine bedding I have in my brooder. The bunch of 6 chicks are a little sneezy, but are otherwise acting and eating fine! One Has started a little head flick but is otherwise fine. All I have is pelleted corn cob right now and it...
I would like to bump this up. I have 6 chicks with a little sneezing and one with a head flick. I was using pine shavings that appear to be dusty. No mites/bugs as far as I can see. All are eating and drinking no problem. They are just over a week old now. Is the corn cob ok? I feel it is better...
