Yeah, that's a good guess!! I thought for sure she was a Welsummer because I tried to identify her as a chick and that was the closest resemblance. Still looks pretty close! Egg color throws it all off.
100% positive. I literately just watched her lay the egg pictured. I kept waiting for a white egg because of her earlobes. So surprised to see the egg color. I heard that mixed breeds tend to lay olive colored eggs? Maybe she's a mix. Leghorn and maybe RIR?
This pretty girl is the sweetest chicken, always wants to be right next to you (including my toddler!) and let's you pick her up, always. She was grabbed as a reddish chick out of a "ornamental mix" sold at Murdoch's. I feel like the chicken expert and can always answer my own questions but...
It looks like you have 3 to me. And it's possible they can live together. Your hens might lose some feathers with all that male around trying to breed them all the time. I have 3 Roos right now and mine are doing just fine. But I also have 7 hens with them. If I were you, I'd let them be unless...
Here are my 2 black australorps, 15 weeks old. They are BOTH Roos. Both crowing up a storm. Neither one looks as well developed as your 11 week old, Buck. I would bet the chicken in question is a roo too. Look at mine. Each chicken develops at his or her own speed. :)
Everything I wanted to hear! We've named her Jazzi (jazz hands!!) haha.
Thanks for all the help, everyone! It's so nice to actually talk to other people who are in to chickens as much as myself! I'm the "crazy chicken lady" to my friends and fam. :yiipchick
