Sorry, just read about your power problems. Maybe open up the hole just a little bit and see if you can see any of the inside vessels and go from there
When my were hatching and I was nervous I googled it and it can take up to 24 hours. I had a few that were about 11 or 12 hours which was so nerve wracking! So I would say wait unless you feel there is a problem. You can do more harm then good.
The first hatch is always so nerve racking. I haven't helped any hatch. All mine that started finished. I would have helped if they needed it but I know you have to be really careful that the inside of the egg is dried up and absorbed or they will bleed out. Good luck!

you need a rooster to umm...Be friendly with her to fertilize and hatch eggs. A gen will hatch and mother any eggs if she is broody and determined. Some will not do it, some will sit on them for a while and give up and some will go the whole 21+ days. Depends on her stamina and determination...
