We have found yolk in our laying boxes and thought a hen was eating them. Today we found an egg with such a fine shell you could see through it and another broken egg with just a limp cloth like shell. I have been adding Oyster shell to each feeding until recently when I switched to a crumble...
I'm having trouble finding crumble over 16% protein. Any suggestions on brands to look for that I could purchase at a local feed store or grange coop? Thank you
I have faith in my girls! They are looking so good lately and I think after a good vacation from the factory they will resume...perhaps not like they did in the pit of hell factory but we don't need that many eggs anyway.

I've had them for a week now and I just adore them. They are doing great and thriving. I am amazed at how easy they are and how fast they have taken to us. They are not afraid or nervous about anything. I think they know they have landed a pretty good life here. :)
Hi! I've had the girls for a week now and they are looking great and follow me around everywhere. They get lots of great scraps, have plenty of space, clean water and a the life!
Hi, I'm a new mother of 5 Leghorn hens that were rescued from a factory farm. I picked them up from Animal Place in Grass Valley and I've been a bit of a fussy, nervous hen myself but my girls seem very content and have taken to the coop and their yard just fine. One of them already follows me...
