    Silkied Ameraucana Project

Hello! There is a lady that sells BBS SiAM chicks and eggs sometimes on the Rare Chicken Breeds Sell/Swap Facebook group. I think she is also on the Silkied Ameraucana Facebook group. Good luck! How is everyone doing? We had a huge amount of rain last night. Part of my barn flooded, and...

Silkied Ameraucana eggs Lavender and Black split to Lavender

I just wanted to say that Thespoiledchicken is so great to work with! I had a great hatch with my eggs from her. I received a shipment of 18 eggs. All were intact and in great shape upon arrival. I put 11 eggs under a broody hen and 7 in my incubator. 100% of the eggs developed all of the...

The bator babies are hatching! 5 are out and the other 2 are zipping! Every single egg developed! It's my daughters birthday today, so these babies are extra extra special.

Thanks! You are an awesome egg packer! I believe Olivia has 9 babies hatched and the 10th is pipped! With the poor baby that died while hatching, that makes 11/11 fully developed shipped eggs under the broody. I hope my bator babies do just as well! They are still hanging out in their...

    Silkied Ameraucana Project

We have babies!!! My broody, Olivia, has hatched 7 so far. One black and the rest are lavender! One other little black baby died after it pipped. 3 eggs to go under her and 7 in the incubator! Today is day 20, so there's still lots of time!

    Silkied Ameraucana Project

Thanks for the candler recommendation! I bought one and candled the 7 eggs in the incubator tonight. It's day 15. I can see veining on all of them and movement for sure in most of them! Amazing! I haven't candled the eggs under the broody, since I don't have electricity out in the barn. I...

    Broody pecking newly hatched chick

Sorry, I posted this in the wrong section, so I'm going to post it again here. I just went out to check on my broody who is on day 21. She had a newly hatched chick outside of the nest and was pecking it. I picked it up, and it was cold to the touch. I ran it inside and popped it in my...

    Broody pecking chick

I just went out to check on my broody who is on day 21. She had a newly hatched chick outside of the nest and was pecking it. I picked it up, and it was cold to the touch. I ran it inside and popped it in my incubator. One chick hatched under her earlier today, and now I'm not sure if I should...

    JUNE HAL

I am setting 7 eggs in the incubator today, and giving a broody the remaining 11. I also have a broody with 8 Wheaten Marans due to hatch Monday, and another broody with 7 Wheaten Amercaucanas due to hatch the 15th. This is my first time hatching in an incubator, so I'm excited and scared!

Not pooping, not laying, acting normal.

How old are the hens? Do they have feed available all of the time? Are they pecking at bugs on the screens?

    Black spots on rooster's face?

I haven't seen them fight, and we don't have another rooster. The hens all think he is a very annoying little man lol, so maybe they are picking on him? I will try separating him from the hens for a while to see if he heals up. I'll also check into possible parasites just in case.
