My Serama Hen just had a chick a few days ago. Would she accept another Serama chick right now if I snuck it under her wing? (There is a breeder a few towns over that usually has chicks)
My Serama Hen just hatched a chick a few days ago. (1/2 Serama and 1/2 Silkie). There is a local breeder of Serama Chicks. If there is one or two available, could I sneak them under my Hen's wings for her to raise them? Or, is it too late for this bonding?
eye was looking better, so I put her back in with the others. Now it is back to being closed. She is much smaller than the other meat birds. I will look into the ointment. Would Fleet Farm have such an ointment?
thanks!
I was also thinking about using the east side door opening and covering it with screen and framing up the same size door opening on the SE corner and doing the same. So I would use two screens the size of doors on the corner of the E and SE corner. I would think the wind comes from the W or...

I was wondering if those boards were pressure treated? Suppose not?
I live in the mid-west where we have real winters! I have a 16'X8' shed that was delivered a few days ago. I am very interested in the open-air poultry house ideas. I was wondering how I would make the opening for the hardware cloth covered opening? Obviously I just cut the opening, but can...
Jack - My coop will be 16X6. The 6' will be on the east side with a large human door. I will have two windows on the south side (only 2x2 each). I won't have any windows on the west side (and not on the north as it will be an interior wall of a shed. I will also have vents, ridge vents and a...
What kind of paneling do you put over the insulation? I would love something washable. I was thinking of vinyl flooring over the insulation? (I also live in WI and the shed comes next Monday!)
I raised 40 meat birds in my tractor 10X8. I did move the tractor 2X per day the last two weeks. fresh grass and bugs are better than a dirt ground!
OP - You have plenty of room. These birds don't like to move much when they get big.
