I haven't run into this, but I would continue the warm bath and make sure you keep her bottom submerged for at least 20 minutes. Don't put too much pressure on her bottom. You don't want to break the egg if she is egg bound

    My hen has been limping

Buffy has continued to make progress. She is walking much better, putting some weight on her foot when she walks. I still provide some exercises now and then, but mostly leave it to her to strengthen her leg. She started laying about 2 weeks ago and has laid every day since. Miracles do happen!

    My hen has been limping

That's exactly what I've been thinking. She still is not using it. She does move it back and forth when she is trying to walk and place it down, but doesn't bare much weight at all. I've been doing some exercises with it and she has a little bit more movement, but it's been at least 5 weeks. I'm...

    My hen has been limping

Hi - I took her to the Vet last weekend and she didn't think anything was dislocated. Its either a ligament or she felt she could be egg bound. I'm pretty sure she layed an egg yesterday so I don't think its that, but she's still limping. She uses it a little which is an improvement, but we're...

    Limping Pullet w/ Swollen Toe

Not sure whats up with the toe, but I would remove the band before it cuts off the circulation or cuts the skin. I would just soak it and have her stay off it for a bit. Good Luck!

    My hen has been limping

Yes, that's what it seems like. I thought I put it back in place, but her leg seems more turned in today. I just took the bandage off to take pictures and it seems a little swollen too so I left the bandage off. I didn't think I wrapped it too tight, but not so sure since its swollen. She seems...

    My hen has been limping

I actually looked into the slipped tendon idea, because it happened when she was either knocked off the roost or jumped off herself. We have linoleum flooring the coop with pine shavings so it made sense. I did what was suggested: Pulled her leg back like she's was stretching it and then brought...

    My hen has been limping

No, it doesn't appear to be. She won't touch it down at all. She extends it down close to the ground after a warm bath and message, but its not improving and we're going on 3 weeks tomorrow. She's also molting now. Any ideas would be great or maybe I just need to wait it out.

    My hen has been limping

Now we're going on two weeks and she is still not putting any weight on her leg. She just holds it up and hops around. I gave her a warm bath today and tried to feel around and message it. I don't feel anything broken, so I just messaged it for a while. Not sure what else to do. I thought of...

    My hen has been limping

Well it's been a week and she still won't put any weight on her leg. She's not laying and not eating as much; although, she is eating. I've been making sure she gets food. I hope she's feeling better soon :(

    My hen has been limping

Thanks everyone for the reply's. She is a golden buff. I tried to convince my husband last time that she needed a few quiet days in the crate, but he felt "bad" for her. Imagine that, he felt bad for a chicken! Anyway I convinced him this time to keep her in the crate while I was at work. I let...

    My hen has been limping

My hen hurt her leg about 3 weeks ago. It didn't appear to be broken, because she could bare weight on it, but not much. I put her in a crate at night and let her in the run in the morning. She seemed better a couple of days later so I let her roost with the others. She ended up limping again...
