Just wanted to update that the neighbor saw and reported where she was going to roost. So I recruited one friend and we wrangled her. Really helps to have more than one person! She was really high up the tree so after we grabbed the tallest limb we could reach and accidentally shook her out...
Well I almost got her last night. But she got away and will have NOTHING to do with me today. I bought a live trap and will try that option. The main problem is I live in the suburbs and she is in the front yard about 1/4 mile down from me. There isnt really anywhere to corner her and I know...
I had a chicken escape my entire yard and is now eight houses down in my neighbors front yard. She escaped the first day I brought her home so she has no desire to return.... I have been feeding her bread crumbs for the last couple of mornings but have yet to get any trust from her to get her...
I had to buy another sensor and put it outside the coop. I thought I had a huge humidity problem but it tuns out I've not seen it be more than 10% higher
than it is outside. Typically2-4%
From what I read you can not mix baby chicks with adult hens. They need to be about the same size to intro so it might be a little less temporary than you think.

I appreciate your opinion on the list. Ive only had my chickens for 2 weeks and only gave them part of a sweet potato vine on Sunday and another chunk on Monday as I was out of their favorite treat spinach..... So no none of my chickens are dead, but I would like to keep them that way...

Thanks for posting this! My girls have been devouring sweet potato vines and I had no clue they were not good for them. Guess they will just have to get more spinach (they love that too).
I used straw for one week as I was recommended to by a friend. Being a horse person I was really disappointed on the lack of ability to clean it out with out removing all the bedding material so after week one I switched to shavings(the natural pelleted ones) and I really love them. Can pull...
Ive been looking around and found a lot of "what is this?" post, but I can not seem to find anything that says specifically why? Well, short of green leg references. Could someone point me at a tread or website that clearly list the differences?
Sorry Im sure this topic has been gone over...
Ok, last question, I hope! On the pliers for the Loxit rings- are they the same pliers for the hog rings? I didnt see any specific pliers for the Loxit rings.
Thanks!
Kelly
The tension wire is made for use on chain link fences(at the bottom). It is available at the Home Depot or Lowes for about $20.00 for a 300ft roll. It stiffens the seam and also allow a tighter squeeze on the Loxit rings.
So you just run it through the seam before you clamp it down? Or is...

Ok, still trying to figure this out. Can you go into more detail about the high tension wire?
Thanks!
