I just found my granddaughter's naked neck chick (4 month old) injured like this. How do I dress her wound? I'm pretty sure that I need to put some antibiotic on it, but what kind. Should I put a bandage on it? I have her issolated from the others, so she will be safe from the other 19 chickens...
I'm in the same situation with my flock of year old hens and I need to intergrate 5 two month old chicks. My older hens have a large hen house and the chicks are in one of the prefab coops. They are side by side and can see each other. I would like to be able to have all of the flock to use the...
We haven't had any problem with mosquitoes until the last 2 weeks. It has rained every day for the last 2 weeks. We live in the middle of 5 acres of some very thickly wooded and low vegetation property. There isn't any way that all of puddles in all of our property can drained. Even if it...

1 short of a dozen GLW happy hens. 1 of the girls just wouldn't go into the chicken house one night and we didn't realize it until the next morning. We think that perhaps a coyote found her during the night.
Will the hens feed the chicks or do I need to give them some chick starter? If I give the chicks the chick starter won't the hens eat it up before the chicks get a chance to eat it?
I have 2 hens who insist the it's their nest. I just found 2 baby chicks in the nest and both hens are claiming ownership.
Should I take the chicks away so that they won't smother them? Or should I just take a chance it that they chicks will be okay?
This is really weird.
Our Golden Laced Wyandotte hens have chased the cotton tailed rabbits nd my dog until he was terrified of them. Now he won't go out into the yard when they are out into the yard every evening. The thought that it was fun to chase the rabbits and see them ran as fast as they could. Lately the...
I play classical guitar for my dog and the tree frogs that cling to the window in my music room.
My hobby is teaching 3 guitar orchestras...about 60 kids.
I hadn't thought of playing for my girls. I'll have to try it sometime.
Now, we can have breakfast. Our 1st egg on Nov. 9, 2015.
Today we got 12 eggs...we have 12 girls.
There were 9 in 1 nest and the others were in different nests. I guess that those 3 couldn't wait any longer.
