Little grey bantam - what breed and sex am I?

Thanks everyone! I got her from a local chicken breeder/seller. She does look kind of "chocolatey" in the pic but she's really grey in real life. She's right at 4 1/2 months old. I'll check out your pics dieselgrl48.

Little grey bantam - what breed and sex am I?

I thought this little grey bantam was a pullet when I got her but now I'm not so sure. She has not laid any eggs yet but hasn't crowed either. The little black cochin bantam in the background laid her first egg last week! So cute! Kim

Accidently hurt chicken by syringing water?

Thanks for the replies. Is there a time frame for when I might hear gurgling in the lungs? Do I need to use a stethescope to hear that? Will it happen right away or does it take a couple of days? The good news is, she is eating some but still mostly sleeping. Would she be able to eat if...

Accidently hurt chicken by syringing water?

Hi everyone, I learned yesterday that one of my Buff Orps has Cocc. I purchased some Corid for treatment. I decided that I would syringe some of the medicated water through the mouth because I was afraid that she was quite hydrated. She has been lethargic and has hardly eaten or had...

Hi everyone, I'm new to the list (about a month) and live in the central FL area. Chuluota to be exact! I was wondering if there are any locals who have some guinea keets available? I would like to get 6-8 to put on about 3 1/2 acres to eat ticks and bugs! Thanks so much. Kim

japanese bantams - chicken or roo? Any guesses?

My neighbor's kids used to show Japanese Bantams in 4-H so I'm guessing that the original show birds were all true Japanese birds? The kids grew up, stopped showing 4-H but the birds remained. I know these are not the originals. My neighbor also has lots of others chickens; most are...

japanese bantams - chicken or roo? Any guesses?

Thanks so much! You guys are awesome. The cockerals are the ones with the feathered legs and bigger, taller combs? Is that how I would tell? Hmmm, now what to do. Luckily, the roos can go back to the neighbor but I'll need to replace those roos with a few pullets. I would really like to...

japanese bantams - chicken or roo? Any guesses?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the list. I'm in sunny FL. My neighbor gave us 4 japanese bantams. I know one is a hen because she's laying but the other three are young. What do you think the gender of these are? Thanks for your help. Kim
