    Free range, how much feed do they need?

    I have a bowl of fermented feed that i take out in the morning.. Sometimes this lasts them until early evening and sometimes i have to top up midday it just depends on if there are any kitchen scraps and how long they get out for free range time... I always add another small biwl in the coop...

    Mysmall flock consists of 2x 18 week old wyandotte pulleys and a 1st year laying sussex hen.. All 3 of them choose to sleep on the floor in the pine shavings rather then on the roost..     superworms

    I bought some superworms (look like mealworms but 4x the size) from local pet store who told me there very popular with chicken owners.. Now im reading stories that there not safe because they bite and can chew through the chickens crop? Is this true? How do you feed them? Just chuck them out...

    I just rinse my egg shells and remove the membrane makes drying and crushing easier and i just add it to my daily scraps

    My 3 girls got carrot peels, left over steak from my 11 month old, left over steamed broccoli and cooked pumpkin skins and cooked red rice

    Keeping Chickens Free Range

    I only have 3 girls currently (2× 17week old wyandottes and 1x laying light coronation sussex) they only get 2hrs each afternoon to wonder our small yard.. We will be moving out to acreage soon so cant wait to let them have more space and a larger flock

    feeding question

    So its ok to leave fermented feed out all day? I suppose it wouldjust continue to ferment? Do you ever give kitchen scraps? So when you remove feed while they range do you put it back after or just leave them with the scratch? Do you not give your birds food over night? Ok thanks everyone...
