Thanks for the confirmation. I am still a bit in shock that 3 out of the 4 I bought as 'pullets' turned out to be roosters!

I'm sorry but I can't ship them. This was my first time owning chickens, so I really couldn't say for sure which type they are or for sure if it's a hen or a rooster. I didn't expect it to be so difficult to tell! Here's a picture of both of them.

I have two hens, a Black Australorp and an Ameraucana which I need to rehome. The Ameraucana crows! They are about 4 months old. North of Tampa.

I can't believe it. I finally found my leghorn a good home and two days later I swear my Golden Sebright was trying to crow this morning. I only had 4 chicks to begin with! If anyone in the Hudson / Tampa area is interested in a very nice looking bantam rooster please let me know.... This...

    FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

I finally found a home for my rooster today, and my 3 hens are all chirping and crying way past when they are usually asleep. Who knew there was such a thing as chicken guilt??

    Rooster in Tampa FL area

I have a white leghorn rooster about 2 months old that I am looking for a home for. This is our first batch of chicks and 1 was a rooster, which is against regulations where I live. :( He's friendly and healthy, please let me know if anyone in the area is interested.

    FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Let's try this again, I accidentally started a whole new thread the first time... I'm in Hudson and it seems that the buff 'something' pullet I purchased at Tractor Supply is actually a white leghorn rooster (I was told). Who began trying in earnest to crow this morning. :) My daughter...

Any possibility this is a hen?

Thanks for your answers, that's what I thought. Looks like I'll be looking for a new home for him soon. Too bad, he's nice and friendly. :(

Any possibility this is a hen?

They just told us that it was a 'buff'. We weren't really concerned with breed, my daughter just wanted a brown chicken so she could name it Nugget. We got them as pets. :) If it's a rooster we'll have to get rid of him unless it turns out to be the quietest rooster in history.

Any possibility this is a hen?

We got 4 pullets from Tractor Supply about 5 weeks ago, our first chicks. The one my daughter picked had a little comb by the third week, I included a pic of when we got her(?) and another from today, you can see pretty easy which one I'm talking about. We aren't allowed to have a rooster...

Deep litter method Vs. Traditional Cleaning

Do you use the deep litter just in the coop or in the entire run? I was picturing it in the entire run until I read this.

Hi from FL. New chick owner as of today!

So far they all seem to be doing good, they are certainly different from each other! The bantam is scared of us, the one I think is a buff orpington isn't scared but doesn't want to be picked up and will peck at you like crazy. Not that it hurts. The other two are pretty nice. Can't win them all...
