realsis, started the riboflavin yesterday along with the b. i also got some vitamin e pearls. how much did you give your chicken? since the vitamin e is not an adipose tissue vitamin, i would imagine too much could more damage than good. she's still hanging in there and when we took her out this...
realsis, thank you so much. This morning she seems to have lost the use of the right led again. Are there any additional vitamins or antibiotics I should give her?
It could be nerve damage I suppose. She's just been perfectly wonderful until last Thursday, no signs of anything before then. She was lsying like a champ as well. Is there anything else I can do or give her to help her get back on her foot?
Perhaps I worded the subject line incorrectly. My Hen is Walking Strangely. When she walks, she picks her right leg up really high before setting it down, then leans back on her "elbow" before picking it up really high again, and so forth. We've been giving her super b and had her in the house...
Last Wednesday, my husband noticed our 16 month old Australorp hen limping on her right leg. On Thursday morning, I found her, away from the rest of the girls in a corner with her head down. It's been pretty hot here and I thought it might be heat exhaustion (we've been running a mister, a fan...
We have five hens in a backyard coop. They free range during the day. For the past few months only the BCM had a bald streak on the right side of her neck. I noticed this morning that some of the new feather tips on the breast have white tips. She is eating well, laying well and otherwise seems...
I'm not sure on the mix. We purchased him from a gentlemen in Poetry, TX who has several breeds running about. I agree, he is a beauty! Any ideas on the mix?
Karen
He's affectionate, friendly and very curious. He's about 16 weeks old. His name was "Lydia". We're in Richardson (near Dallas) and would love for someone to adopt this wonderful guy!
Thank so much!

Oh well, I was afraid of that.
So, does anyone know someone in the DFW area (or surrounding areas). That would love a wonderfully, friendly, affectionate, beautiful boy?
Karen
We have a second naked neck as well. She's definitely a pullet as she's been laying eggs for about two weeks. A steady one day. We're very proud of her as she's the first of our girls to lay. She is larger than the Lydia but I am afraid you're probably correct in that Lydia is a roo. NNs are...
I'm afraid I already know the answer but I would appreciate any guesses! To picture is of the saddle feathers (I think), second one is of "Lydia's" face. Lydia is about 16-18 weeks old.
Thank you!

Hello everyone. Sadly, I found out earlier today that my frizzled bar and my frizzled easter egger are, indeed, roos. I need to find a happy home for them both. I'm in Richardson (DFW metroplex).
Please let me know if anyone is interested.
Thanks!

Gee thanks, Rachel! Why yes, they do have awesome earring sorting abilities and impeccable personal hygiene! I have tried, several times, re: the mascot thing, never goes over too well with management; but with co-workers, different story. Perhaps I'll just hide them in the neighbor's bushes...
both of these frizzled bar and frizzled easter egger ladies (hopefully, but i have my doubts) are approximately 7-8 weeks old. any guesses as to sex would be very much appreciated. if they're roos and anyone in the dallas, tx metroplex is interested in adopting for free, please let me know...
