I have 8 hens and 2 Muscovy ducks (a drake and a hen)... The ducks live under my chicken coop at night and they all free range together in the day. About two weeks ago my Austrolop (sp) started laying in the duck nest rather than the hen boxes. Three days ago she would not come out...

Thank you all, I do have oyster shells out and they are on laying mix, but they free range during the day ...I thought she would slow down or quit as she got older but I presumed it would be more gradual...she just stopped laying all together?

Older red star not laying? Is this common any ideas?

I was given an older RS hen in January. I was told she was 3 but she maybe almost 4 years. She was laying huge eggs, much bigger then my RIR hens. The eggs were thin shelled and broke occasionally. I encouraged eating of laying pellets by making a mash for a few weeks and she laid just fine...

Corid, only to treat babies 2-8 weeks or give to laying hens as well?

SO I have 4 adult hens. Three are currently laying (one is older). I picked up some chicks from 2-5 weeks and I was given a pair of bantams about 8 weeks. The new ones are kept separately in a run adjacent to the hen house. The hens free range and stay in the hen house at night, but do not...
